Virology and Immunology Studies
Clinical
and laboratory scientists focus on the epidemiology, immunological
response, diagnostic methods and clinical interventions which
could improve care and outcomes for patients with HIV and CMV
infections.
Population studies of genetic susceptibility to HIV
are conducted to identify protective immune response for use in
novel vaccine approaches. Studies are conducted in adult and pediatric
populations in Canada and Africa and in selected risk groups such
as oncology transplant and HIV infected patients.
