for C&S, viral & fungal investigation was sent to the
microbiology department
Gram smear results
reported as no bacteria seen
A single colony
of Scedosporium apiospermum was isolated from repeated corneal
scraping specimens, and Amphotericin B was added
Gram smear over
stained by Calcofluor white and fungal elements were observed
Keratoplasty was
performed, natamycin, itraconazole and terbinafine were also added
to the existing treatment
On subsequent visits,
the clinical improvement was noticed, and no evidence of recurrent
infection was observed
