Fungus Looking Like Pseudohyphae

A 60 years old male emigrated to Canada from Somalia

He went to the Middle East for temporary job

He came back to Canada with brain abscess

Brain biopsy was performed and sent to microbiology

Gram stain showed pseudohyphae like structure, later identified as septate hyphae

Fungi-Fluor showed thin hyphae, non-dichotomous (not Aspergillus)

Wet preparation demonstrated light pigmentation in fungal hyphae

After 10 days a dark mould was isolated
