Histoplasma was suspected from Gram smear

• Fresh smears made & stained by GMS (A) and PAS (B): x1000

• Observe small oval budding yeast with narrow attachment consistent with Histoplasma.

• Culture grew Histoplasma capsulatum. Histoplasma should be considered when suspected for Sarcoidosis, especially among immunocompromised hosts.

• Fungi love patients on immunosuppressive medication.

• It allows fungi an easy access in order to establish in human tissue
