Structure: Unstained preparation of KOH showing beaded or spherical
arthroconidia in chains, within septate hyphae, dermatophytes are
known to produce arthroconida in the infected area of the host.
Since the KOH preparation is unstained, a high rate of false positive
and negative results are produced by inexperienced staff.
