Quality Management Program - Laboratory Services (QMP-LS)

Study Highlights

  • A questionnaire was distributed by QMP-LS to licensed bacteriology laboratories in Ontario (178 in 1996, 161 in 1997, 142 in 1998, 133 in 1999, 121 in 2000, 117 in 2001, 113 in 2002)
  • Each laboratory was asked to provide information on the number of MRSA and VRE cases identified each year
  • Additional data was requested on possible sources of isolates, laboratory detection methods, and existing MRSA/VRE screening programs.
