Morphology: Pale yellow and white
or light pink to orange.
Culture consistency: Fragile,
growth rate rapid to moderate, easily moved with loop. It must
be compared with Nocardia species. Mycobacteria are filamentous,
non-branching gram positive bacilli, acid fast positive by ZN
and MK
